2023 Activism, Advocacy, & Authorship Symposium
Friday, March 17, 2023 @ 2:00 to 5:00 pm | Room 3208 on campus & live-streamed via Zoom

The GGU Race, Gender, Sexuality, and Social Justice Law Journal is hosting its Annual Activism, Advocacy, and Authorship Symposium on Friday, March 17 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. This event will be held in person on campus and will also be live-streamed via Zoom for remote attendance.
Various communities have faced numerous devastations and challenges over the past year. However, these lows have fostered a newfound commitment to change in many students. Our Writers and Editors seek to address continuing injustices by focusing on our own four pillars: race, gender, sexuality, and social justice. Under each of these pillars, we have published work from our Writers, bringing a unique perspective in each writing that serves as a reminder that a fresh perspective can make all the difference. While not all of our publications will be presented, each writing nevertheless furthers the cause of bringing attention to issues that fall by the wayside in traditional spaces.
Dean Crawford will share a few words at the start of the event and Professor Nanda will speak to the vision in creating the Journal and its development over the past three years. In the second portion of the event, Writers and Editors will be paired together based on related themes in their writings to question each other on their work, rather than a traditional lecture-style symposium. Please join us for an engaging afternoon! There will be a reception to follow the event with food and drinks and an opportunity to mingle and network with all attendees.
This event is open to all students and GGU alums, all legal professionals, and anyone interested in hearing from GGU Law students. Please register for the event using this form: https://forms.gle/N5tpf4uqQGY6D2MK8
Registration deadline for in person attendance: Friday, March 10 at 11:59 pm.
